My Advice to Jessica Simpson on Pregnancy Weight Gain

Hello, my name is Nicole, and I’m a recovering over-indulger. (Everyone say, “Hi Nicole!”) I’m also pregnant with my second child. When I found out I was pregnant with my first child, I was overwhelmed with joy. Shamefully, part of that joy was excitement about “eating for two.” As much fun as that was, it came at a price: I gained 60 pounds, had a 9-pound baby and was stuck with an extra 30 pounds of “baby weight” long after delivery. But everyone knows that drinking alcohol during pregnancy is unsafe. View Full Post

Bikini Body Or Not: Loving the Skin You’re In

I absolutely love the summer. It’s the perfect time to lounge poolside or hang out at the beach and enjoy the sun. But while you may see me doing both, there’s one thing you won’t see: me in a bikini. If I could bear the heat, I would probably be covered from neck to toe. Why? Truth be told, I’m overweight, and I don’t have the confidence to pull off a bikini, tankini or anything else ending in “-ini” (except maybe a martini). View Full Post

A Body Like Beyonce? The Reality of Post-Baby Weight Loss

Celebrity moms like Beyonce, Halle Berry, Gwen Stefani and Heidi Klum are famous for losing their post-baby weight seemingly before their baby’s first burp—and woe to the celeb who doesn’t. Recently, Bollywood actress Aishawarya Rai was criticized as “fat” and “lazy” for not returning to her pre-baby figure six months after giving birth. View Full Post
