I don’t know what “MET’s” are, but I (3 times per week) spent about 40 minutes on the various walking machines & usually at about >4 miles per hour (some at 4.6 mph) and also walk and run backwards and hop sideways at 3.9 mph for several minutes during my routine, and lastly jog for about 5 min. at 6 miles per hr. I feel good and I can always walk fast the rest of the days, and even after weeding my lawn or working my garden. Fortunately I am still a young guy, am only 72 1/2 yrs. old. During my workouts I use a lot of the body workout equipment also for about 30 minutes. Every morning I work out in my bedroom by stretching, leg lifts, back lifts, belly crunches, touching my toes, and modified pushups for about 15 minutes. My diet is similar to what you recommend, but I do include a daily cup of red wine during the evening.
