For most people, losing 50 pounds and winning a million dollars in the process would be enough. Mission accomplished, goal achieved, let’s go home. But Mike Lamb, winner of Dr. Oz’s Transformation Nation Million Dollar You, isn’t “most people.”
Lamb is determined to keep losing and keep transforming.
A high school teacher originally motivated to get in better shape so he’d one day be able to donate a kidney to his wife, Jody, who has kidney damage, Lamb doesn’t have an ultimate goal weight in mind. (“I’ll know when I’ve lost enough by the way my body feels,” he says.) But he knows he’s not there yet – even though he’s lost another 12 pounds since Transformation Nation ended.
That’s why he’s spending his summer vacation—with us! He’ll continue to use the Sharecare Fitness tools (where all Sharecare members can track food and activity and get fitness motivation; just sign in (or click the “Sign Up” button at Sharecare.com) and click the “Fitness” tab on your profile page.). And we’ve connected him with Sharecare Fitness Expert and trainer Wendy Batts, who is developing a workout plan that you can follow, too. We’ll be posting Lamb’s weekly progress on our blog channel. Tune in to learn what kinds of diet, fitness and motivation challenges he’s facing and how he’s handling them — then steal some tips for yourself.

Hi Mike,
You are looking great already. Keep up the good work with your weight loss. Soon you will be totally fit and feeling younger and healthier than you do already. Stay the course and congratulations again on winning the competition.
Hugs,

Hey Mike,
It’s Wendy Trunz, a fellow Transformation Nation member!…You have inspired me to keep going on this journey. Thank you for sharing times when “life gets in the way”, and it is hard to stay on track and make great decisions. My dad had a stroke on Memorial day weekend, just 4 days after Our Transformation Nation Finale aired on Dr. Oz. I have been practically living in the rehab hospital taking care of him, and then when I am home, taking care of my mom (who lives next door), as she battles breathing problems and diabetes.
I have gone to ww the past 3 weeks and not lost a pound, even gained 1 for the first time. This past week, I decided to totally get back on track as much as I could, after crying on the scale at ww. I decided to take the challenge and try the “simply filling, core program”. I never believed it would work for me. The idea of not weighing and measuring really scared me, but I looked up all the power foods, shopped, prepared and did the work all week. This past Saturday I got on the scale and…….I lost 5.4 pounds this past week!!!! I also hit a big number….I am down 70.4 pounds!!! I am challenging myself to hit the 75 pound mark with you! So thank you for sharing your stories and inspiring others…I will continue to be in this with you!! Many thanks, Wendy Trunz

Hi Mr. Lamb!!!
Your quest has inspired me……………
I’ve started many diets in the past but this time I was inspired. It was much help to see someone you really know who you can relate to when the contest. See you are a great teacher, not only in the class room but on the world stage as well. Prior to school ending Janajha came home and advised me about the challenge you were in and said “mom we have to eat healthier” that next day we cleaned out the junk food and made a healthy shopping list and went to the grocery store. Since school has been out me and my daughter have been working out at La Fitness and with the fitness channel. We also make sure we drink plenty of water……………..Thank you and your family for sharing your story we to have our eye on the prize of life.

Congratulations, Mike! I’m so glad you won the million dollars. I missed my chance to vote because I don’t have a computer at home, but when I viewed the finalists, I really wanted to vote for you. Your story is amazing- You’re amazing!! Your wife is blessed.
I am a fellow Transformation Nation member who has lost 92 pounds on my journey, but my flame has fizzled. In fact, I’m now gaining and I am so disappointed with myself. I have decided I’m addicted to food-sweets in particular. And even though I know I joined Transformation Nation for the health benefits, I think not making even it into the top 200 has messed with my motivation. I also joined some local competitions and got nowhere with them either. I was so proud of myself, but I guess not succeeding in any contests made me feel like I wasn’t good enough.
With my kids back to school today, I just found your continuing story here on Sharecare. I hope reading your weekly adventures will inspire me to get back to my program. Thank you for sharing your story and all your hard work!!
