Transformation Nation: Everyone Wins!

Dear Transformation Nation participants: If you made it this far in the program, you’ve won—even if you don’t win the million dollars!

The feeling of accomplishment that comes with reaching your goals is priceless! Sure, winning the money would be nice, but the extra self-esteem that comes from starting and finishing something like Transformation Nation is life-changing. Keep in mind the reason you wanted to join the program in the first place: to lose weight and get in shape. The real prize is lower blood pressure and cholesterol, more energy, and lots of new clothes you can now wear. I bet your doctor was happy to see your latest blood work with lower blood sugar, which decreases your risk for so many diseases.

Living lean and fit is the best way to fight aging, and we all know money can’t buy that feeling when you put on a pair of jeans that you couldn’t get into a month ago. I can tell you from my own experience there’s nothing like it! And as long as you stay on track, it just keeps getting better and better, even as you age. So take a deep breath and get ready for the next phase of the journey. Set some new goals—and don’t underestimate yourself. Raise your bar high and keep your eye on the goal.

Want to keep your motivation as high as the day you began this journey? Try this:

  • Every day when you wake up, meditate on how blessed you are. Spend 10 minutes counting those blessings one by one.
  • Change negative thoughts to positive ones. For instance, I say thanks for the fact that I can exercise instead of lamenting that I have to exercise. Yes, I know you wake up tired, and so do I, but I even say thanks for the fact that I am alive, which means I can feel tired!

I have learned that the journey is the best part, and it really is the prize. Exercising has become my favorite thing to do every day and I don’t feel right not exercising. Now that’s a gift!

How do you plan to maintain the success you’ve achieved? Tell us your story in the comments box below.

I don’t think I have ever been happier in my life. I think I have become addicted to exercise. If I miss a day of exercise, I feel a real let down. My eating has changed and I have come to love fruits and vegetables Yummmm. I have so much more energy and am able to do so many more fun and meaningful things. Life is fantastic.

First and foremost, I will faithfully continue to watch Dr. Oz every single day for the best health tips and motivation. I will not give up on my fitness plan until I have achieved my goal of 120-130 pounds and then will maintain that goal by weighing every day. If my scales show a 5 pound gain at any time, I will immediately take action to remove them, it is eaiser to lose 5 pounds than the 142 pounds I had gained.

Last summer I had to buy larger pants because nothing I had fit me anymore. Last weekend I put on pants that were a size smaller than the ones I had outgrown last year. What an amazing feeling of success when the button actually closed on those jeans! I owe it all to Dr. Oz and Transformation Nation for the invaluable information that kept me on goal to becoming a better person. Someday I am going to run a marathon but this year my goal is to run in a 1k fundraiser run. Hopefully I can convince my grandchildren to join me!!!
