Today’s healthy transformer is Kristin Cook from LaVerne, CA. Since joining Transformation Nation, Cook has lost 40 pounds. We find both her diminishing waistline and her health consciousness to be inspiring.
On Checking in With Her Doctor:
“When I started my transformation, I had been told by my physician that if I didn’t do “something” I would need blood pressure medicine and cholesterol medicine. The doctors had already told me I would need knee surgery and that I could have sleep apnea. I was just a mess! Now, my blood pressure went from 135/95 to 106/61, my cholesterol went from 220 to 180…and my knee is feeling great. “
On Family History:
“I joined [Transformation Nation] because I had bad joints, bad lab results and I felt horrible. Both my mom and dad have struggles with diabetes., In fact, my father passed away nearly two years ago. I believe in my heart that had he made healthier choices, he’d be with us today. My mom has rapidly failing health and had to move in with me for a couple of months…I’ve lost weight to get healthy, to not be a burden in my later years to my children. I want to be happy, healthy and enjoying my later years.”
On Working Out:
“I have walked several 5Ks. I go to the gym. I am a Weight Watcher’s believer!”
On Motivating Others:
“I blog about my weight loss on Facebook. I’ve had several people hop on the healthy bandwagon. If my story could help just one person, I would tell the world.”
On Reaching Her Goals:
“I have 14 pounds to go to get to my goal weight. I plan to be there by June 13 when I go on vacation, and for the first time in my adult life, I’ve booked a trip and I WILL BE IN THAT BATHING SUIT!”
On Her Weight Loss Motto:
“I’m a firm believer that [weight loss] is about choices…As my No. 1 motivator told me…don’t give up because you’re tired, give up when you’re done…I hear that [saying] in my head when I walk 5Ks or when I’m staring into the fridge.”

Kris,
You have been and continue to be an inspiration to so many just everyday people living life.
Your wonderful, positive outlook towards your goals is AMAZING.
Taking a little bit at a time making smart health and exercise decisions along the way makes people believe they can do it too.
Your reward at the end of your goal is not only your planned Vacation in a bathing suit but the reward of a LIFE time for many years to come.
Thank you for being an example for so many that it can be DONE!
“Don’t give up because you’re tired, give up when you’re done” and that wont be for a very long long time for you my friend. Enjoy what this New life has to offer YOU.
Kathy
