Heather Lethbridge started showing her love of exercising early in life. “My mom says that at 3 years old I used to wake up at 6 a.m. every morning and do Mousercises,” she says. This life-long love of exercising led her to a career as a personal trainer.
Lethbridge shares her passion for fitness on Sharecare answering questions on topics from losing weight after having a baby to how exercise can help you sleep. We caught up with Lethbridge to learn her thoughts on health and fitness. Read on for her thoughts on the power of yoga, the mental game of weight management and more.
Day job: Personal trainer. Owner of Redefined Image, a fitness and weight-loss company.
Weekend job: “On the weekends I dedicate my time to my 2 and a half year old son and to running races to help raise money for different causes.”
Favorite quote: “No matter who you are, no matter what you do, you absolutely, positively do have the power to change.” -Bill Phillips
Proud to be: “A young, single mom and a business owner!”
Favorite activity: Doing hot Baptiste yoga.
Health mission: “My mission is to help people learn how to live a healthy lifestyle, learn how to incorporate being active into their daily lives and understand that we ALL deserve to be happy and healthy, not only our bodies, but our minds and our souls as well. I want to help people understand the importance of preventative health care—that if we take care of ourselves now, we will have less to take care of in the future.”
What’s always in her fridge: Almond milk
Passion: “My greatest passion has to be Yoga. It is physical, spiritual and it teaches you how to stay calm when things get crazy. Everything you learn on your mat is applicable to life! Yoga has transformed my life in many ways and has helped me find my strengths, my weaknesses, and has taught me that both are valuable.”
Secret Pastime: “I love to turn the music on loud and have dance parties with my son.”
Weight-management secret: “Think yourself thin. Ultimately we are what we think. If you don’t believe in what you want you will never achieve it. It all starts with your attitude and how you not only perceive the world, but how you perceive yourself. You have to picture yourself achieving your goals and dreams. You have to visualize what you want and then believe it like it has already happened.”
Advice to live by: “Always treat others how you want to be treated.”
